Being a vodacom customer for years, decided to make use of the online service to upgrade on my contract that expired on 9 June 2013 already (did not get any notice from vodacom to tell me this). Vodacom advertises that if you upgrade online, you will receive your phone within 24hours if the order is placed before 12pm. Upgraded online on Sunday night 28 July 2013 and only received my phone on Wednesday 7 August after numerous phone calls to find out when the phone will be delivered.

The phone was then delivered with a sim card and when we enquired, I was informed that it was a new contract, not an upgrade. Don't know how this happened because when I log in to Vodacom online and select the upgrade option on my cellphone number, it states the following: "There is an open quote by another dealer. New upgrade quote not permitted." So how did THIS upgrade happen then???

Phoned numerous times and wasted lots of airtime to try and sort out this error that obviously occured on Vodacom's side, but the only solution to this problem according to them is that they will have to collect the phone again to cancel the new contract and then we must upgrade again - don't know how...
