Impossible to cancel an account with Autopage

Been trying to cancel an account and debit orders since May 2013 without success. Sent cancellation letters by fax and email (which a read report has been received) but no progress. The account in question is not in use and yet I've now been informed that an outstanding amount is on our account for data used. I have also now been informed that the email address [Email Removed] is not in use, yet I have a read report for email sent. How in this day and age are companies not operating electronically via email, especially a telecommunications company? With every call to the call centre I have to start all over again with the process yet get nowhere.
