My cellphone contract with Autopage (phone no. 082 607 1348) expired on 7/01/2013. I visited the Menlyn, Pretoria shop on 3/01/2013 to renew my contract with the clear indication that I require the same benefits as before, because I was not prepared to pay more than the previous R69 p/m - I am a pensioner. I was shown a photo of a Nokia (looked like a model 301) which will be supplied - no stock!!! What a disgrace..
I cannot remember signing a contract, about 2 weeks later my grandson collected a Nokia 1280 (very basic model) on my behalf, for which was paid R95. I returned the phone, requesting a signature for receipt, which was pointblank refused! I left the phone with them and later contacted their head office, when an arrogant senior employee threatened me with prosecution if I should cancel the contract. He promised to peruse the contract and will give me credit, which was never done. Numerous e-mails to try and resolve the issue amounted to nothing - they refuse to communicate via e-mails. I stopped all debit orders at my bank to Autopage, albeit they send me regular invoices via e-mail, yet I do not use the phone. No attempt has been made by them to either resolve or cancel.
