Owner does not care about students

A few of us live in a student house owned by Johan, who is the owner of one of the biggest telecommunications company"s in south Africa, in partner with North West University. Two weeks ago on a Sunday night, while students were awake, robbers tried to break in. Tree nights later the robbers came back. We were promised a load of things when we signed the contract in the beginning of the year, with special reference to security. this has not happend. Since the break in parents had to step in to get a response, again promises were maid, but yet again nothing has happend. A response by Johan was given that robbers will break into any good security complex. Currently the student house does not have a working electric fence, a barbed wire that hangs lower than the wall and no response unit or panic buttons. We, the students have to protect ourself in any circumstance. And how do we do this? it is clear that the owner and the renting company TRIO PROPERTIES (who will also get a report on this site) do not care about students and all they want is our monthly rent. we had to span fishing line in certain places so that we hopefully can just hear them before they come close to our windows.
