Still being billed for cancelled contract!

2 months before my contract expired, I notified Cell C via e-mail, fax and directly through one of the customer walk in centres that I didnt want to renew the contract.
One month prior, I followed up at the call centre to make sure the cancellation letter had been processed. I was told it had.
It is now two months later and I am still being billed for the contrcat even though everytime I call they tell me it has been cancelled!
I am at my wits end. what more must a person do cancel a contract?
