Telkom is a disgrace

I run a online application development business. This means I need internet 24/7.

Apart from regular work, which all takes place online, many of my clients are in foreign countries. Our only means of communication is Skype.

So without internet, the business comes to a halt.

About ten days ago my internet stopped working. I logged a complaint and was told a technician will be dispersed. Five days later, still no technician.

I investigated and discovered the fault myself, which is that Telkom crossed my lines with someone else, so I called them and reported this. Only then did they send out a technician.

He came in and fixed it, a day later, EXACTLY the same thing happened, crossed lines again.

After exhausting all emergency 3G resources, I have had to shut down the office and everyone has to work from remote locations.

I have called Telkom - 30 times, sent - 20 emails and even used their "SMS" system and all to no avail. The financial damage incurred is estimated at around R100 000.

I have spent this entire week doing damage control from internet cafes, I still have no internet/landline access and still no word from Telkom.

This whole ordeal has made me sick.
