Permanent hassles with the line being down!

Our telephone line has magically just gone down numerous times this year, and its starting to become an aggrivation now! Surely if the line KEEPS GOING FAULTY, you do something about it and service the exchange box up the road or find the fault and fix it once and for all? We have had NO lightning or bad weather recently, it was working fine this morning, and all of a sudden, it just stops! We log a fault and it gets fixed 3 days later, sometimes longer! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! What are we paying for???
