Forced to pay for poor MWeb connectivity

I've been experiencing problems with my MWeb 1 Meg uncapped dsl connectivity. There were several times when it became very slow - speed test of 140-150 kbs. I've reset my modem several times, changed passwords, etc and the problem still persisted.

I then decided to cancel with MWeb and move to another SP. I contacted MWeb to cancel and they insisted that I need to pay for the rest of this month and the whole of the following month, as stated in their contract.

This to me is a rip-off I don't mind paying for the remainder of this month, but how can MWeb expect me to pay for bad service for another full month. It's like asking me to look at a broken TV for another month, before I can buy a new one.

This is a RIP-OFF!!!
