MTN wont let me buy off my contract

I currently have a Galaxy S2, the phone fell, and broke, it costs R2000-00 to repair my phone. I can upgrade my contract in December 2013, so it is 5 months from now, so I thought I would try to buy off the 5 remaining months of my MTN contract, so I can upgrade now, instead of repairing the S2 for R2000-00 and then upgrading in 5 months. MTN say it is not possible for me to do this. I know it is possible with Vodacom, but MTN's call centre just say no. I have about 5 contracts with MTN, for my business, seriously considering to move all of them over to Vodacom.
