Months late I decided to upgrade with Vodacom. What a disaster.

Nearly three years later, in an environment of plummeting communication costs, I will now have to pay more for a 400 minute per month package than I did previously for a 500 minute package. Also on the new package minutes are held for two months, rather than the previous contract of three months. Vodacom is going backwards.

Secondly despite being smsed that contract had been upgraded on 29th November, into December contract was not showing as revised. After nearly two hours of phoning the Vodacom call centres and being sent from pillar to post, finally transferred to on-line sales where the answer was given in a one line sentence - contract will only be updated on receipt of the phone. This despite the sms received to the contrary. Basic stuff that around 6 call centre operators I engaged with had not even been trained to understand.

Finally, I have significant number of minutes unused on my current contract - paid for minutes. Vodacom quietly states that all these minutes will be lost without any compensation, contribution to new phone etc on upgrade. Nothing..

This will be my last contract with Vodacom
