Our telephone line has been out of order since Friday, 12 July 2013 - possibly since Thursday, 11 July 2013. Telkom technicians were attending to a distribution box opposite our house on Thursday, 11 July 2013. It has happened before that they attend to someone else's faulty line and in the process deactivate our line. I reported the faulty line on Friday morning, 12 July - Ref No 34CWZ120713. Yesterday, 15 July I phoned the Telkom 10210 line to enquire when this would be attended to. The barely audible person on the line was of no help whatsoever. I phoned again today and was given an escalation ref no 530754. I was also told that this has not been assigned to any technician (more than 4 days later) and a homeline could take up to 9 days to be attended to. SHOCKING! We live in a security estate and our Telkom line is our main access to visitors. We have very bad cellphone reception from our home. I herewith request someone to let me know approximately how long we are going to have to wait. I also herewith request that the monthly rental is adjusted according to how many days we have had use of this phone.
