Absolutely shocking service from arrogant firm

I have a prepaid cell phone with Cell C which is used mainly for emergencies. The current balance on the account is R64.00. Last week when attempting to make a call, a voice message informed me that the number was deactivated and I needed to recharge. I queried via email with customer service why this was necessary as there was a healthy balance in the account. I was then out of town over the weekend and on my return, found an emailed response waiting for me claiming that customer service had tried to contact me by phone and that my line was permanently deactivated. There was no missed call, sms or voice mail on my land line, so obviously they didn't make much effort. I immediately phoned customer service to object, but was informed that as the line was deactivated they couldn't help as they couldn't trace the records. I am totally disgusted with Cell C and their high handed action and demand that they refund me the R64.00 in order that I can take my business elsewhere
