Telecommunications

My mother-in-law used iBurst for her internet connection but it was proving too slow. They have a partnership with Cell C through which we purchased a new Nokia high speed dongle and some data.
I tried to set up the dongle, but after a lenghty frustrating effort was told by Cell C support that the dongle didn't have the right drivers on it for use with Windows 8 and that I should take it into the store for setup.
I eventually sent my mother-in-law to the shop in Sandton telling her it should be a short setup and she should be up and running. After 5 days and multiple trips to and from the shop having new sim cards Rica'd and all sort of other rubbish, she is still desperately sitting without any internet connection and has not been told that the dongle she has is completely incompatible with Windows 8 and so won't work at all on her computer.
Could we NOT have been informed of this during any of our other interactions? Surely someone should have asked at point of sale - 'What OS are you using? ' It should have been the first question.
I am incensed in the extreme that she has had to spend so much time going through this drama. She should have been up and running ages ago. Pathetic
