Cancellation Paid! 8 Months later still in arrears

I have cancelled my contract with Cell C last year November 2012 and paid the cancelation fee. I have struggled 2 weeks to get the contract cancelled and my number pre-paid, I have send the cancellation letter together with proof of payment numerous time. Now after almost 8 months Cell C tells me that I am in arrears that I owe them money. How on earth can I owe them money if I paid the cancellation and that my number is no longer a Cell C number, I have change to another network and as fare as I know you cant take out a contract on a contract number so how do you explain that?? Now I have been struggling to get this sorted out after 8 months AGAIN and its been 4day already. Every time its a different story and then they just tell me to send proof of payment and cancellation letter to another email address. I am so frustrated, I have never in my life struggle so much and so long to get something sorted out. Cell C HAVE to work on their accounts department and the admin department. What do they do with the documents you send, eat them??? What happened to service??? HOW LONG IS IT STILL GOING TO TAKE???
