No phone for a month and yet still have to pay!!

I reported my line out of order on 7th June 2013 to the number 30591 as indicated by Telkom on their call centre number. I received a phone call to say it was due to non payment of the bill. After I provided them with proof of payment and the receipt number they still took no action. I managed to get the fault logged again on 21st June 2013, they sent me a reference number on 21st June. To date I still have no phone line and yet I have had to pay for line rental which I have not had the use of. I have tried to get Telkom to tell me what is happening and what the fault is but no-one knows. I keep getting told that the fault is "in progress". Really?? In progress for the past month??? How long does it take to find a fault? Do they even know what is going on? I've just called again now to be told they still do not know what the fault is and there is a backlog in the area so I must wait for the technician to get round to me.!!! And at the same time I must pay for this "service". They tell me that the fault is logged on their system from the 26th and I can claim a credit from the 26th. Doesn't help me with my kids at home without any means to contact me during the day!!!
