I have 3 contracts with MTN 2 voice and 1 data, i make use of the make voice contact and the data contract, my farm manager has use of the 2nd voice contract. my farm manger got out of hand with phone over December and January, i received a statement of around 8K. explaining to MTN that due to personal financial problems i can not settle all at once and will pay as much as i can. naturally all of my contract lines were suspended.
my main 24month voice contract has come up for renewal. i requested that i DONT want to continue with the contact and that i want to close the account. (i still acknowledge the debt and will settle) however i don't want the added cost of the contact fees per month. i would rather decrease my contract fees and contribute the amount toward the arrears. i was told that i CANNOT close the account and that i will still be charged the contract fees on a monthly basis (R699 roughly) i feel that this is completely unacceptable and that MTN are forcing me into more debt by not closing the contract.
I have sent multiple emails and i am yet to get a response, if need be i will have to get my lawyers involved.
