On 03/06/13 I phoned MTN Direct to upgrade my existing contract and requested a Samsung S4 handset. This was subsequently delivered on 05/06/13. The phone was activated on 07/06. Went through the set up procedures as indicated. The handset kept on switching off by itself at irregular intervals. I took it to the outlets in Menlyn Retail and Centurion Mall but without success. I was advised to take it to the repair centre in Midand which I did yesterday. The phone was found to be faulty and a collection no. supplied to have it replaced. Only MTN direct could do this. I had to speak to Zain as he innitiated the original contract. It took 3 calls before he replied. I was told someone would be in touch to arrange del. This morning I phoned 3 times and loose my temper before I managed to speak to him. I was informed that the old contract had to be cancelled first before a new one could be issued and a new handset supplied. This could possibly happen by the end of the day. He was not certain. I told him this was unacceptable and I want to collect the new phone today still. I have been a loyal cust. for years and expected better service. I am about to cancel my business with MTN.
