My mother & I took out 2 MTN contracts 10 years ago. My mother passed away the 07th of July 2012, I attended the East Rand Mall Branch of MTN to advise them that she had passed away. I requested MTN to switch the contract to my name in order to keep the number as we used the number for business transactions. 3 Months prior to my mothers death we both attended the East Rand Mall to change the contract but this was never done. I filled in all the necessary forms to allocate the contract to myself. They advised the matter will be handed to the legal department. Legal Department advised me that they will let me know. I also attended the East Gate branch as well as the Head office but nothing has been done. It has now been almost a year and still nothing has been done! I am losing business as no one can reach me on the number. We are taking the necessary steps to report the matter to the onbudsman and the National Cosumer Commission. I want the matter resolved on or before 21 June 2013 or I will have no other choice to attend to the above.
