MTN Service and Rules

Telecommunications

I am an MTN contract holder, and have two phones on this contract, a Nokia and Blackberry.

The Nokia was meant for a family member, and has always been paid up on time. Yesterday unfortunately this family member was robbed, and the phone was, it wasn't insured either, the sim has been suspended. I know I will have to pay for the phone until the end of the contract, What makes me angry is the response I am getting when I am trying to have a sim swap done. Why should I pay an extra amount for a sim that was, just for a sim swap? I mean it does not make sense. I am all the way here in Port Elizabeth, and they are in CPT. Now I am being told I should do the sim swap as the contract holder because of the frauds that take place. How can it be if I am the one who has to pay for a phone? At this point I am really up to my neck with the service I am getting at MTN. Its not enough that I am not happy with this Blackberry, now this has to happen? I am told"You will just have to courier it to CPT" So I should buy a sim card, have it activated (extra cost) then pay to courier it? Does this sound fair to you? I would like a solution on how this can be handled.
