Account migrated by company impersonating Vodacom

Telecommunications

I was called by a company impersonating the migrations department at Vodacom to migrate my account to a more expensive tariff (Smart XL) free of charge. I decided to proceed with the deal as I was told that I coud always revert back to my old tariff before 31st May.

On 29 May I called Vodacom and explained that I did not want the Smart XL package and they said that they would keep the original Talk 200 package.

Yesterday I see that my account was never the less migrated to Smart XL package. I called Vodacom to find out why this transaction was processed. Vodacom responded that the migration was done by a third party and that they had no details of the original migration and could not reverse the transaction.

How can Vodacom send my details to a third party, which then contacts me, impersonating Vodacom?
On the 29th May Vodacom claim that they reversed the migration which they clearly did not. When I called them today, they are unable to reverse the transaction, unless I pay them R700-00???
