A few weeks ago, after various calls from Telkom, I decided to upgrade my ADSL line from a 1meg to 2meg. I decided to do that because of the extremely slow internet speed. Bot my wife and I are at university and need the internet for research. Only one of us can work on our laptop/tablet at the same time. Last week I phoned Telkom and complained about the slow speed. I spoke to a guy from Durban by the name of Dan who reset the port but to no avail. Instead of getting a 2 meg speed, I was getting 0.4 and 0.5kbps d/load and upload speed respectively. I phoned on Tue, Wed, Thur and Friday. At 14:30 on Friday, I became extremely upset and asked to speak to a competent person in a supervisory/managerial capacity. After a long wait, Daniel from DSL tech Support who is a supervisor, came on the line and indicated to me that he would task a technician but either way, would call be back within 4 hours. 2 days later. I have had problems with Telkom before and they have indicated that the Da Gama Park Residents are too far from the exchange but fail to modify or come out with a solution. They however diligently charge us for services that we are not getting.
