During January 2013, I cancelled a contract for Internet Service Provider with MTN due to a) very poor service b) despite reporting the matter to Hellopeter, MTN made no effort whatsoever to rectify the situation c) I was about to relocate abroad.

Despite paying an exuberant cancellation fee and confirming the cancellation of the contract with MTN, the monthly debit order has not been adjusted or cancelled. Ever since January 2013, MTN continued to deduct the monthly contract fee.

Twice the matter has been reported to MTN, every empty promises are made that the funds will be reimbursed and that the contract will be cancelled. Every time a new reference number is supplied for the complaint but upon return later, no record can be found of the complaint, the cancellation or the promised reimbursement.

MTN has been deducting via debit order for 5 months now, contract fees which it is not due.
