We have been having constant trouble with our Telkom 4MB line since November last year. We tried for a couple months to deal with Telkom direct with no results. We then tried to change the management of the line from Telkom to our current ISP, Afrihost, We got our line back up to 4MB for one (1) week back in Jan then it went back down. Currently our line stays up for Maximum, 5 minutes, then disconnects and takes - 3 - 4 minutes to reconnect. Once connected our line speed is Sub-2MB. Every Telkom technician that has thus far come to the house, gives a different story, ranging from our router is broken (So I bought a new one) to faulty telephone cables to flooded pipes, then they leave, never to be heard from until we complain again. This is absolutely disgusting behaviour and leaves me wondering why this seemingly simply problem can't be fixed and why it takes 8 technicians to find the fault (which they still have not, apparently). If I could move away from Telkom, I would have done so many, many years ago. It's just not worth the headache whenever something goes wrong with the line.
