Vodacom
VODACOM REFUSING TO CANCEL BIS SERVICES

Telecommunications

During the end of February 2013 I approached Vodacom at their Brooklyn Mall branch in order to upgrade my contract from a certain Blackberry contract to a contract specifically for iphone.

Upon completion of my upgrade I enquired whether all the necessary paperwork had been completed and whether my old blackberry contract would expire at the end of the month. The attendant advised me that my contract would immediately expire and that I would have to buy a data bundle, for the remainder of the month, which I duly did.

When I perused my account I found that Vodacom had never cancelled my BIS services and that they were still billing me for a service which is incompatible with my current contract.

I contacted Vodacom who advised me that they would immediately cancel my BIS services but that their hands are tied in respect of refunding/crediting the three months of BIS that I have already paid.

The only logical explanation can be that this is standard operating procedure for Vodacom. They do not cancel BIS services and in the event that a customer gets wind thereof and complains they cancel the BIS but refuse to refund the customer or credit their account.
