Impossible to renew, upgrade or cancel contract

After trying to renew my expired contract with Virgin Mobile for over three weeks, I got tired of the frustrating experience of being to by VM representatives. I was told by at least 4 different people that they would contact me within the next 2 days, and considering that this was over a month ago I don't think the chances of any of them keeping their word are very high. I also tried to speak to a supervisor on two different occasions without success. I am therefore porting my number and will not entertain any bare assertions that I am bound by this contract any longer. As I am unable to either renew my contract or cancel it, I view the relationship as effectively beyond rescue. In the unlikely event that a VM representative suddenly takes interest in the matter, I am very open to being told why I cannot summarily end this contractual relationship (although I strongly advise that VM gets a lawyer to phone, for which I will not be billed).
