Horrible signal in Sherwood, Durban

Ever since I moved to Sherwood, I have had to live with an almost non existent MTN signal. Making or receiving calls has become frustrating as every call will break up or disconnect. Often the phone loses the network entirely and needs to be rebooted. MTN claim there is 3g coverage in the area. If you call a 1 bar 3g signal that changes to Edge in the blink of an eye, then yes there is 3g. This has rendered my 3g modem totally useless. I have logged a call with MTN coverage two months ago, Ref : 0052084. A month ago, a technician acually came home to test the signal and he confirmed that it is horrible. He said he will get back to me but thats the last that I heard from him.

I have made numerous follow up calls only to be told the same thing every time that a message will be left for the technician to call me. I'm still waiting for the call. Is this the kind of service or rather lack of service that I can expect from MTN?

If that's so then I will have no reservations in porting my number to another network as my contract is close to termination date.
