Why has MTN's call centre become so useless?

MTN's call centre (808 and 1555) has become increasingly unable to assist in the past few months. They used to be sharp, friendly and helpful, and now they are surly, agressive, they mumble and have zero technical knowledge. I have spent 45 mins this morning speaking to these agents who ask me security questions galore, only to direct me to the next unhelpful agent who asks me more security questions and then tells me to phone another number.

The final person told me to go to a store.

My phone is using excessive amounts of data according to MTN, and none of these useless agents can tell me why.

Have all those rock star agents that used to be able to help me left?
