I lost my number just like that

Telecommunications

I bought my Voda sim card in 2008 if not 2009 and i have RICA'd the same number when the law about Rica came to effect. I used that number full time until late last year (2012). i began using that number for data bundles and Internet usage not frequently as i used to.

Few days ago i discovered that the phone that had that Sim card was. Yesterday i bought a new Sim card trying to do a swim swap via the call centre, i was told to go to vodacom outlets as the answers i gave them do not match. i went to vodacom today i was told the samething.

I have been trying to call my number since i realised that the phone was but it always goes unto voicemail, but now Vodacom told me i cannot have my number back since I'm not getting answers right. i mean that Sim card was mostly used for Internet recently even when i gave them the numbers that i used to call the time the Sim card was fully operational but i was told it doesn't match.

How on earth can i loose the number that i had for so many years and most of my things are registered with that number and being the right full owner of it and loose it just like that. What is the point of RICA if that wont help wen u nid help.
