I have a number rica'd on my name but my dad uses the phone. The agent online (111) told me there's nothing she can do, I must go in store. I needed to do a sim swap because I was told my current sim wasn't working anymore. This number was moved from contract to prepaid & 1 month after that, the sim gave an error "sim card rejected". After buying a new sim & doing RICA Again, I had trouble doing a simple sim swap. I was asked 3 questions, "name of phone" & "roughly the balance left on the card", yet I was told my answers were incorrect, to my amazement! I was also asked what numbers were dialled from this number. This was something I couldn't answer as my dad never makes a call, he only receives, but this too I was being insisted on answering which wasn't possible. I have 2 contracts with Vodacom & this prepaid, I assumed other alternate questions can be asked as it was quite urgent for this number to be working the next day. Surely, there are other details of mine that I could verify. I believe there should always be another option to assist your clients. I will have to go into a Vodacom shop to do this but I'll be porting to another service provider once everything is sorted.
