Telecommunications

14/04/2013: I received an sms with an access code to subscribe the DragonflyM service. Since I had not subscribed to the service (and didn't know what it was) I ignored the sms. I looked online to see what DragonflyM was.

23/04/2013: I again received a similar sms but since nothing further had happened, I ignored the sms. Later I received 4 sms's stating that I had been subscribed at R44.97/week and offering me links to games that were now available.

25/04/2013: I phoned DragonflyM to explain the situation. They told me the only way I would have been subscribed is if I had entered the access code. Although I explained that I had never done that, they said that was how the technology worked. They unsubscribed me but would not refund me.
I was told that if I was not happy then I could contact WASPA and gave me the contact details.

I understand how these kinds of double opt-in systems work but somehow (and I don't know how) someone has got around it.
