I received a SMS with the following content: " Reminder: You are subscribed to Mobilenobo. Subscription R6/day. Unsubscribe? SMS STOP to 31122. Help: 08601106472 (VAS)". This SMS was received today, the 2nd of Jan 2014, at 5:28 pm. I called the number in the SMS to enquire and very conveniently the call centre only operates until 5pm.

After Googling this, I found a site which has Customer Complaints regarding the same. It seems like after Customers are SMSing STOP, they are in fact getting subscribed and being charged. Upon querying this with the Company, they are being told that the Company didn't receive the STOP SMS to Opt out. Therefore I will not be sending the STOP SMS as I didn't subscribe to begin with.

Now, like the previous complainants (local and abroad), I never subscribed to Mobilenobo. Prior to this SMS, I'd never heard of them. How did I get subscribed. Why didn't I receive a welcome SMS/SMS notifying me of my subscription. I NEVER subscribed, so why should I SMS STOP to opt out and be billed for my subscription to be unsubscribed?

Surely this is against the code and conduct of Companies as regulated in the Consumer Protection Act???
