I joined Planet Fitness Plattekloof last year in May on a 3 year cash deal. I made sure I ask about the transfer fees and sales person informed me that I will only pay a transfer fee then the transfer can proceed. I went with the person to whom I want to tranfer my contract to on Friday. 2 Guys came to help me and informed me that I will not only need to pay the transfer fee of R750, but the person taking over my contract also needs to pay half of the value of my contract. This was never discussed with me when I asked about the tranfer procedure when joining. The staff at the gym informed me that I joined before the 50% policy, but first need to find out what to do. I have been in contact with Bradley now (GM), but I can not wait everytime for him to e-mail head office and wait for their reply so he can provide me with feedback. I received feedback twice since Friday. I hope I can get clarity quicker through this medium as I am moving to Johannesburg soon. I am willing to pay the transfer amount of R750 as agreed, but not the 50% of the value. It feels like Planet Fitness is quick to take my money, but now they are not willing to keep to their word afterwards.
