Virgin Active South Africa
Worst customer service and a bunch of

Sports

I joined Virgin Active on the 1st of May in 2007. I was very happy with their service, until the day i had to cancel my membership due to work. I went in to the Vanderbijlpark branch where I kindly asked them to cancel my membership, this was on the 12 December 2011. The personnel very quickly assisted me with forms and asked me to sign the cancellation. Trusting them and their ability to do their work correctly, I signed the cancellation forms, or so i thought. Returning home after working thirteen months abroad, I received a call from their lawyers, telling me in a very rude manner that i owed Virgin Active money. Apparently the form I signed was a freeze on my account and not a cancellation. The freeze was for 1 Jan 2012 to 1 April 2012, after i specifically asked them to cancel my membership. The lawyers called me and said i had to go in to the Vanderbijlpark branch, which i did. Only to be send back and forth and then given a phone to contact head office. They told me that it was my problem, i should have taken notice that it was a freeze and not a cancellation. I wonder how many people they have manipulated this way. Really unsatisfied, and furious at the unprofessional servi
