On cancelling my existing Virgin Active membership for myself and my family, the consultant mentioned to me that the cancel is effective immediately on payment of the final cancellation fees. I paid the cancellation fees and consequently tried to sign up with another gym. On trying to activate my new membership, I was notified that I was unable to activate my new membership because I was still signed up with Virgin Active. When phoning the acting club manager, Edwin, he called me a when I mentioned the consultants cancellation period. He had then promised my husband that he would contact Head Office to see if there was a way to cancel the membership sooner. When we have tried phoning him for feedback, he is NEVER available. On speaking to him today, he claims that he called my husband twice (from a private number) and that my husband saw his missed calls. He claims to have left a detailed message for my husband with feedback. He had actually left the message for my husband to call him back. My husband and I have left COUNTLESS messages for him which he NEVER returns. He is a very rude individual and has no manners. He is incompetent at his job and has no "follow up" skills.
