Trying to cancel membership!

I decided to cancel my Multiply and Virgin active membership as I will not find this service valuable and called the call centre on the 23rd Jan13 to request the multiply membership and Virgin active membership be cancelled. Themba from the call centre advised me that it will be done (no problem) and that I will not receive any further debits to my account. I asked if I needed to inform Virgin of the cancellation at which point Themba again assured me I didn't need to and they would take care of the whole cancellation process.

I received an sms today stating I will be debited on the 1st Feb13 for the virgin active membership... WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO CANCEL A SERVICE YOU NO LONGER WANT!!!

Please remove me as a member and cancell all other associated memberships with the gym etc.
