Cancelled Contract but still being debited

I took out a 2 year contract with Zone Fitness Wynberg. On signing the contract I specifically asked if there was an automated renewal clause and I was told emphatically that there was not. I read the contract and I did not see such a clause. Nevertheless, a few months before the contract ended, I sent a communication form their website stating that I was to cancel the contract on the expiry date. Now almost a full year later, I am still being debited. I have emailed them 2 from their own website and I have tried to call and I am simply not getting a response. I am extremely upset and if I am not contacted soon after posting on Hellopeter, I am taking this up with the consumer protection ombudsman.
