I applied for Virgin Active membership on 6 December 2013. The consultant, Melusi code 1771 receipted and charged me R475.00 as they were running a special on activation fee. I paid the R475.00. This morning, R500.00 was debited from my account. Upon enquiring with a call centre consultant (Luschano), she informed me the R475 I paid was a part payment as they do not run specials for Vitality members. Luschano said a reimbursement was impossible but that I could get a month free or cancel if unhappy. This is surely a breach of contract considering that it's not what I signed up for. The sales consultant was probably misinformed or misrepresented the facts. No reason I should pay for what we didn't agree upon.
