I joined Planet Fitness about 2 years ago and they were uber keen for my business. So much so that I was getting daily calls offering a month's free membership, personal training sessions etc. Eventually I cracked and went in to meet them... I was promised a fixed rate over 3yrs because I'm a student. I said I was wary of signing something for 3yrs but the chap assured me it was all good. Stupidly I agreed. After signing the contract I am still waiting for my "free" personal training sessions and even my tour around the gym. I've also noticed that my "fixed" rate has been increasing steadily... not enough to really notice at first but now I'm like "hang on a minute". The final straw was that I've just received a 13 month charge for "admin purposes". When I phoned to ask why I was billed twice for December I was told "oh ja everyone is complaining but it's for admin... you should have got an email but ja, everyone is complaining". I asked to speak to the manager but he was obviously not available. My next point of contact was to email "customer service"... I'm still waiting to hear back from them. I'm at my wits end with Planet Fitness and their "fine print" and poor service.
