OVERCHARGING

I have been a member at Planet Fitness Lakefield since February 2012. Today I received the membership letter with regard to the new fees for 2014. According to this letter, the membership rate for a local membership at the Benoni club from February 2014 should be R199.

Since I joined the gym, I have been paying R265 per month for a local membership. And now at the beginning of December, my rate and the double levy was R291. This means that not only have I been overcharged for roughly 21 months, the rate increase was also introduced prematurely. I have basically been being charged the rate of the Centurion and Bedfordview clubs, which have much better facilities.

This is not the first problem I have encountered with regard to fees since I have joined the gym, and I am seriously considering taking my business elsewhere.

On the pamphlet there was an email address for customer services and I emailed them yesterday afternoon, and since then, I have not received any response.

I've always enjoyed training at Planet Fitness, but I honestly find this issue appalling.
