DO NOT TRUST PLANET FITNESS

I visited the Planet Fitness Branch during February 2012. The idea was to enquire about the facility and options are available. The sales consultant was extremely hasty pushed some papers in my hand. I mentioned that I am a discovery member. The person provided me with a number and said I have two weeks to arrange for Discovery to activate the special rate. I contacted Discovery and they explained to me that I need to pay a once off fee etc. At that stage I started working on a project that took me away from home a lot and decided to postpone my application for membership. Sadly, the sales consultant did not inform me that if an arrangement is not made with Discovery, a regular contract will be initiated. Also, I was only informed of this by PF in June 2013, that is a couple of months later when they suddenly start to debit my account. I informed the lady at reception telephonically that I am not in JHB at the moment and will only join later. The debit orders stopped until a year later when an amount of 250 was suddenly deducted from my account again. Upon investigating this at the branch and head office they informed me I must just pay up, although I never used their facilities.
