I have been a member of Virgin Active (VA) for almost 5 years. I initially decided to join VA due to their value system.
I have been a Vitality member all along. I requested to move from a "beneficiary member" to a "primary member" when my medical plan changed. I was told that there was an extra payment of R900 required to do this.
The second incident and the actual reason for this complaint is due to the way that I have been treated the last time I visited the gym. I recently forgot my gym card in Johannesburg (which I would've collected the following week) and have been visiting the gym for more than a week by signing in with my ID number. However, on this specific day when I gave my ID number to the lady at the entrance she informed me that I was not allowed to enter and that I had to buy another card before I would be allowed to enter. I was humiliated in front of other clients and treated with no respect at all.
This behaviour totally contradicts the way that VA professes to treat its customers and I do not believe that it should go by unnoticed. After being a loyal customer for 5 years I am now contemplating to take my business elsewhere.
