We visited the Fourways club in Dec to start the process of activating our memberships via Discovery Vitality, and completed the process up to the point where we had to activate via Discovery. I explained to the consultant at the time that we will probably only activate in Feb 2013 as we would be away on leave in Jan, and were informed that this would not be an issue. In Feb we had a bit of a financial crisis as we incurred vehicle and household insurance excess costs and we decided to let our activation stand over to March. I was surprised to to see 2x membership debit orders go of my account on 1 March to the value of R710!
My wife phoned the club to enquire yesterday, only to be informed that it is part of the conditions that we have 2 months to activate our membership via Vitality, failing which the normal memberships would be due!? This was NEVER explained to us as such and if this was the case we would have held of on our applications until later!
I demand that I am refunded the membership debit orders immediately, as I am now not in a position to pay the Discovery activation fee!
