They are selfish anf heartles

I joined the gym in 2012 May, in June called in to cancel cause I had thought of it long and hard. The guy who was assisting me did not mention any cool off period. He said the contract is 2years. I spoke to a very rude Fikile who told me I cannot cancel cause the cool off period had passed she quoted 14 days, after that she said I need to get someone to take over the contract, then she dropped the call on my ear cause I could not understand how they work. Instead of them addressing their staff not mislead clients, they dont. I called again today to be told my contract term is now 36months. I asked the lady to cancel and she told me I have to pay R3800. Can someone out there please assist cause this is a rip off these people are squeezing blood out of rocks and they dont give a about their customers. Those who are considering joining them please dont they are a bunch of.
