Planet fitness refuse to cancel membership

I joined planetfitness at Soneike 3 years ago in May 2010 of which I did not receive the contract then as they said they would give it to me. In July 2010, I realised that I will not be able to go to gym due to work commitments outside SA and so I decided to cancel. While trying to cancel, the Sales Rep printed a copy for me and I realized that they made the contract to be for 36 months. Nicoleb informed me that I was unable to cancel until the 36months elapsed in May 2013. I have never used the gym ever since 2010. I have talked to, Lancelot -the guy who put the contract to be for 36months after I had already signed. Bernard and Visiage tried to assist in cancelling the contract with no success. I have written 4 letters and nothing has been sorted. Monthly member fees are still being deducted & reversing it monthly with the bank and this is really frustrating. This is supposed to be a simple standard process. I cannot continue to pay for their incompetence and I would appreciate it if someone who knows what they are doing can contact me as soon as possible and give me the relevant paperwork because this is definitely in violation of my consumer rights
