Pick 'n Pay
Centre security arrogant, unreasonable, overzealous

Shops, Products, Services

Having spent a good R500 in the Pick-n-Pay, I decided to just walk across the road to Woolworths and pick up a loaf of their lovely seedloaf. Was accosted on my way out by an un-uniformed security guard, who told me I couldn't leave my car there and go across the road to shop. I explained that I had actually been shopping at Pick-n-Pay and I was just popping across the road for one or two things. He said it didn't matter. If I committed the heinous crime of walking across the road to buy a loaf of Woollies bread, I would be clamped and fined R500. That is just lunacy. I know they have problems with restuarant patrons from across the road using their parking - but surely they could use a little discretion and just ask to see a till slip! Spoke to management at Pick-n-Pay and they said it was the centre security - and just not their problem, there was nothing they can do about it. As a regular customer I would expect them to show at least a little interest in making sure their customers aren't harrassed by security staff. As the security staff was un-uniformed, I initially thought I was being approached by a conman wanting money. Also couldn't establish who to complain to.
