I give up!!

Since last week, I have been smsing to open an account with Legit. I got the response "we are currently off line, please go the nearest branch". Well I left it at that. I sms'ed again this week, same off line message, yet the R1.50 gets deducted from my airtime.
Has this sms line ever worked or is it just a money making scheme? How many R1.50s do Legit collect with that ever offline system?
P.S: I AM NO LONGER INTERESTED OPENING AN ACCOUNT ANYMORE :(
