Smart shopper machine not so smart after all

I went to pick n pay this evening to go and redeem my smart shopper points. When I got there I discovered that the machine was not working. I then asked around to get more clarity if there was another way to redeem my points. I was so disappointed at the fact that non of the staff members paid any attention to me. The only response I got was from one of the packers that yelled from the till that the machine had not been functioning for a few days now (like really)! I then decided to go and try another pick n pay nearby. I was appalled to discover that, that machine was also not working! again at this pick n pay I had to go and search for someone to assist me, the service at this store was even worse, when I got to the tellers to enquire about the machine, all they said was that they did not know how to use this machine and called out for the next customer, like I did not matter!!! THIS I FOUND TO BE SO DISRESPECTFUL AND RATHER BELITTLING!!!
