Please assist - bar stools

Hi please assist. I bought 3 gas lift bar stools last year at the Westgate store when it was on special. Unfortunately I had them stored in the box as I bought them and moved house and am doing renovations at home - and decided to open then up and install them today - I noticed that the gas lift is not working. I followed the instructions as per the sheet provided but all 3 do not work - is it because it was stored for a long time? I have the original packaging and can find the invoice - I've since moved to Midrand - can I take one to my nearest store and ask your guys to have a look to see that I have assembled them correctly? Please assist me - thanks!
