Magna-Thomson International Movers
MagnaThomson do not take responsibility for damage

Cars & Transport

My furniture was in storage with MagnaThomson for 10 months while our new house was build. I paid a monthly insurance. My furniture was delivered when we moved in, and their employees helped to put the furniture in place, and also removed the plastic, etc. This particular morning was very busy as some of the builder employees were also still working in the house. Only when I had my upholstery cleaned 3 weeks later, did we discover a cut in one of my wingback chairs, which I presume was accidentally done by the person removing the plastic covering. My 2 wingback chairs is a pair with 2 foot stools, all of the same material. I immediately reported this to MagnaThomson. It took nearly a month for a reply after many phone calls. Their insurance company Tray International only offers me R500 to "repair" this chair. I think this is an insult. My chair was in perfect condition now I must have it "repaired". I think they should take responsibility and have both my chairs and the foot stools re-covered with the same material to be in the same condition as before. I will not find the same material as they were covered 6 years ago. They just ignore my e-mails. Mari Coetzee
