Made NOT to last

We purchased a Defy single door metallic fridge / freezer as well as a metallic box deep freezer November 2010. The fridge has been in for repairs 3 times for gas leaks. Now the box deep freezer has also broken due to a gas leak. How can the product quality be so poor that these products are made to last for no longer than 2 years yet we pay very high prices for these products hoping that we purchase products that will last long into the future.

This is not acceptable.
